Privacy Policy

Fleeting is a time capsule app for iOS. You write a message to your future self; we hold it and return it to you one year later. This policy explains what we collect and why. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to store your capsules and deliver them back to you, and we do not sell your data.

What we collect

Account information — your email address and a display name, used to create and sign in to your account.
Capsule content — the text you write, plus any optional photos, mood, weather, and song title you attach. This exists so we can return it to you on its surface date.
Push notification token — so we can notify you when a capsule surfaces. Nothing else. No noise.
Basic usage analytics — anonymous events (such as "capsule sealed") used to understand and improve the app. These are not tied to the content of your capsules.

What we do not collect

No location data.
No contacts.
No advertising identifiers, and no data is sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Where your data lives

Capsules and account data are stored with Supabase, our backend and database provider. Photos you attach are stored via our media storage provider. Both act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect your data. Authentication tokens on your device are kept in the iOS Keychain.

Sealed means sealed

A sealed capsule is not shown to you, other users, or our team through the app until its surface date. Our staff do not read capsule content except where strictly required to operate the service (for example, investigating abuse reports) or where required by law.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated capsules at any time from the Profile screen, or by emailing us.
You can request a copy of your data by emailing us.
Deleted data is removed from our production systems and expires from backups on a rolling basis.

Children

Fleeting is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note it in the app before the change takes effect.
